A message from Rep. Rick Jore
Hello Montana Pro-lifers,
We appreciate your interest in CI-100, the Montana Personhood Amendment. We hope you will find this site helpful as you seek information on how you might help to get CI-100 on the ballot for the November 2008 general election. To qualify for the ballot, we need to collect 44,615 signatures from all across the State.
Please understand that while CI-100 merely defines "person" as used in the Montana Constitution, it gets right to the heart of the abortion debate. The fact that human life begins at conception is the only sure foundation of the pro-life argument. We cannot, we must not, buy into the notion that human life begins at some arbitrary time that seems convenient to us.
When Justice Blackmun issued the majority opinion in Roe v. Wade he said "(If the) suggestion of personhood [of the preborn] is established, the [abortion rights] case, of course, collapses..." After 35 years of this slaughter of innocents in the womb, it is past time to end this madness.
CI-100 puts forth a strategy with a vision of victory. I sincerely hope you will do all you can to help us.
For Justice,
Rick Jore
House District 12

Colorado Personhood Amendment on the ballot
Thu, 15 May 2008
According to the Colorado for Equal Rights website, nearly twice as many signatures as needed were turned in by the deadline this week, putting the Colorado Personhood Amendment on the November ballot. Hundreds of dedicated volunteers collected over 131,000 signatures throughout the state.
Life for Montana congratulates Colorado for Equal Rights on their accomplishment, and encourages them to continue their hard work to achieve a similarly overwhelming victory on behalf of the unborn this November!
The Montana Personhood Amendment still has five weeks to complete our ballot access petition, and we need additional volunteers to ensure that Montanans have the opportunity to vote for equal protection for the unborn. To assist in our efforts, visit our volunteering page and sign up today.
Planning meeting in Missoula for statewide organizing
Wed, 16 Apr 2008
We will be meeting to organize and train regional and county leaders in preparation for gathering signatures on the CI-100 petition during the primary election on June 3. A well organized and concerted effort on that day will put us on the ballot.
The meeting is in Missoula at the DaySpring Restoration building, next Monday April 21 at 4pm. We scheduled this time to coincide with the Ron Paul meeting later that evening as many folks have indicated they will be in Missoula for that event. We will plan on finishing up by 6pm, leaving time to get over to the University Center for the 7pm Ron Paul meeting.
DaySpring Restoration is just off the freeway on Airway Boulevard, across the street and Southwest of the Deano's Store and Gas Station. A cinder block building that is mostly brownish. You will likely see several blue and white vehicles around with the DaySpring logo on the side.
Please contact Rick Jore by clicking here if you would like more info. Also, pass along this message to those who may be interested in working with us. Our focus will be establishing leaders in the counties and larger regions who can recruit and organize volunteers to be at the polling places during the Primary election.

Letter: Help stop casualties in our state Missoulian 27 Mar 08
...a war has been going on in the state of Montana in which 10,767 innocents have lost their lives. None of these children were buried with honor and dignity. Their names never appeared on the TV or were featured in the newspaper. They came from every county in the state. Most of our citizens never even knew they existed. This is a tremendous casualty loss in that Montana has the 44th largest population in the U.S. Imagine what it is like in more populous states. This is a war in which each resident of Montana can participate. Each citizen can make a contribution to see that casualties are depreciated and ultimately stopped. ...

Group wants church to back anti-abortion initiative The Daily Inter Lake 21 Mar 08
A group based in Bigfork is asking the Catholic bishops of Montana to reconsider their February decision not to support Constitutional Initiative 100, a proposed Montana ballot measure intended to create a constitutional right to life.
The group, called Catholic Christians Supporting CI-100, said in an open letter to the bishops Thursday that it considers CI-100 "a new and creative way of opposing and ending abortion."
